Comments

I have attended a lot of trainings and workshops during my career and I must admit that I am now often "bored" or not "challenged" during some trainings/workshops. I often feel as if I have perhaps "wasted" my time because I take away no new information and or no new ideas to enhance my existing methods of practice or knowledge base. When I registered for the Anti-Racism workshop I did believe that I would again leave a training with no new information and let me tell you right away that the assumption I made was 100% wrong. After about 15 minutes I realized that the Anti-Racism training had already impacted me and my mind was racing with anticipation of what was to come during the next couple of hours. I saw the awareness level grow in the room minute by minute, and also the anxiety level, which was wonderful to experience and observe.

This is a training that everyone will benefit from whether they want to or not. The format of your curriculum, especially the application pieces, forces the participants to think and encourages dialogue. For many it may have been the first time that they truly realized and discussed in a open diverse forum that they had prejudices, and for others it may have been the first time that they realized how prejudices truly impact people of color.

I look forward to attending the two and a half day training in May 2008. Thank you so much for developing and hosting this training.
