Corp.
(LVCDC)
|
Little
Village is a community of primarily Latino residents where
income and educational levels are low, and crime and gang
membership are high. Yet, the area has a bustling business
district, new branch banks, job training and a commitment for
a new high school.
The organization (LVCDC) is dedicated to establishing and
furthering block clubs to foster grass roots involvement in
violence prevention, public transit, education and economic
development.

Springfield
Dominicans
The
Order was founded in 1216 by a Spaniard named Dominic de
Guzman. For nearly 800 years, those who have joined themselves
to the mission of Preaching the Gospel as members of the Order
of Preachers have adapted their vocation to the age in which
they live. When we speak of Dominican Family, we mean all of
the men and women who are committed to the preaching
life as followers of Dominic, in each of its forms.
There are about 13,000 Dominicans in the U.S., about
114,000 worldwide.
