Share your Story

After you have read “Witnesses to Racism” and are reminded of your experiences of racial injustice, you are invited to write your story and send it to: lprebil@archchicago.org

The people who tell the stories in “Witnesses to Racism” tell it from the vantage point of different ethnicities including African American, Latino, Native American, Japanese and Caucasian. This little book, copyrighted by the Office for Racial Justice and edited by Sr. Lois Prebil, osf, contains eleven heartfelt testimonies by members of the Archdiocese of Chicago – ten laypeople and one permanent deacon – about their own experiences with racial injustice. These inspiring witness talks were initially presented at the Workshops on Racism and Ethnic Sensitivity for parishes in the archdiocese. More->

January 2010

The events of the past year have renewed our nation’s focus on issues of race and class. Many have concluded that our country is now in a “post-racial” era. It is within this context that the Metropolitan Chicago Synod Antiracism Team invites you to ask:

Has the dream been achieved?

The Myth of a Post-Racial America

A Sacred Conversation on Racism

Join the conversation regarding the current state of racism in Church and society.
